MEET MR MOVIES
Mr Movies was created by TV producer Pete, creator of ITV’s hit movie-making kids show, Mini Movies, hosted by Luke Franks.
After years spent making television professionally, Pete wanted to give young filmmakers the chance to discover the same tricks, techniques and creative thinking used by real filmmakers — but in a way that feels like an adventure rather than a lesson.
And you don’t need professional equipment - the best camera to start making movies with is probably already in your house - a smart phone or tablet.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Mr Movies 7-Day Movie Challenge has been designed for children aged approximately 8–12 who:
Love movies and YouTube.
Enjoy making videos.
Are always coming up with stories.
Like acting or performing.
Love technology.
Enjoy creative challenges.
Or simply want something fun and different to do.
They don’t need any previous filmmaking knowledge.
And they definitely don’t need an expensive camera.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
Very little.
You’ll need:
A smartphone or tablet capable of recording video.
Access to a simple video-editing app (suggestions and instructions included).
A printer is useful for some of the Director’s Kit activities, but not essential.
And ideally…
A few willing family members, friends or toys who can be persuaded to become movie stars.
